11 - Optimism
Avoid excessive optimism when planning. It is not advisable to plan as if you were Superman. You must analyze the historical data and determine how much time is actually spent on each activity. Another issue is that you estimate excessive time to accomplish certain activities. In these cases, you must take objective improvement measures, although considering that your plans for today must reflect the current status of such activities. As a rule of thumb, it is better to plan more, but not an exaggerated amount of time. If you use less time, all the better, for it is a time gift. On the other hand, when you plan less time than needed, the days tend to have excessive pending issues. This is a symptom of inadequate planning and one of the main daily planner management stealers, since you must replan each day due to your own fault.
